Sunrise Sanitation Services is proud to announce a major milestone in our company’s history, the purchase of Beitzel Corporation’s 31-acre, 55,000 sq. ft. facility located in Bittinger, Maryland.

The transition was made possible through the collaboration of local real estate professionals Rich Orr and Ben Maust of Railey Realty, along with Jay Ferguson of Taylor-Made Deep Creek Sales. This purchase represents more than just a new property, it’s a shared commitment between two long-standing Garrett County businesses to invest in the future of our local communities.

Investing in Local Growth

“At Sunrise, we’re always looking for ways to improve, expand, and meet the needs of our communities,” said Nathan Walter, President and CEO of Sunrise Sanitation Services. “Acquiring this facility allows us to establish a new operations and logistics hub and strengthen our recycling capabilities, while continuing to invest in the people and communities that have supported us for nearly five decades.”

For Beitzel Corporation, the transition aligned with the company’s ongoing growth and consolidation efforts. After moving Beitzel Corporation and Pillar Innovations operations to the Northern Garrett Industrial Park in Grantsville, the sale opened the door for another local business to continue creating opportunity in the region.

“A significant vacancy in Grantsville allowed Beitzel Corporation and Pillar Innovations to consolidate their operations,” said Shawn Bender, CEO of Beitzel Corporation. “Sunrise’s purchase of the Bittinger facility will help provide additional opportunities for our region to support and retain the local workforce, which is critical for supporting our community. Congratulations to Nathan and his team!”

A Continued Commitment to Community and Sustainability

For nearly 50 years, Sunrise Sanitation Services has provided reliable waste collection, recycling, and disposal services throughout Western Maryland and West Virginia. The addition of the Bittinger facility marks a major step forward in the company’s long-term investment in the region. Reinforcing its dedication to innovation, sustainability, and community partnership.

As Sunrise continues to grow, we remain focused on delivering efficient, environmentally responsible services that help make our region cleaner and stronger for generations to come.

Stay tuned. We’ll be sharing updates as the Bittinger facility becomes a key part of Sunrise’s growing operations and recycling initiatives.
